EOTC Day Recount

Beep, Beep Beep, Beep I hear my alarm clock beeping. I remember that it is the day that we are going to Rocket ropes, Minigolf and Mc Donalds for lunch. I go downstairs to get changed into my mufti clothes. I am really excited for today.

We got split into groups. I was in Miss Jiang’s group with Vivaan, Rayaan and Jayson. On the bus, I sat next to Uzayr. We had alot of fun and talked heaps.

When we got to Rocket ropes an Instructor taught us how to put our gear on and then the instructor took us out onto the course. I will always remember what he told us to do. When I got higher and higher In the course if got me even more scared. Once we finished Rocket ropes Mr Yates took us to Mc Donalds. There I ordered a hashbrown, apple pie and a strawberry milkshake it was super delicious. But the only Sad/ Annoying thing is that we had only 5min!!!! At Mc Donalds!!!! We ate at Mc Donalds for 5mins so that we could make time for treasure island mini-golf. It was really fun going to treasure island mini-golf. Before we went on the bus Mr Yates did a headcount and there was exactly 37 students. After we got off the bus, Mr Sommervile leads a game of frisbee. It was the best.

Overall the EOTC day was the best school trip that I have ever done. It was really enjoyable and I was always full of excitement. In my opinion Rocket ropes was the best because I had alot of fun. Whenever I was on a Rocket ropes obstacle course I always had a mix of adrenaline and happiness. I would definitely take my whole family to Rocket ropes because I feel that it would be the perfect thing for them. Maybe Mr Sommervile will take the Year6’s there instead of camp.

Article on writing speeches

Do you think you did badly in your speech last year? Well, you're in luck, today I will be telling you how to write a good speech. It is very important to have a good speech so you can qualify in the semi-finals of even finals.

Make sure your structure is good, If your structure isn’t good you will bore your audience. Your speech should be organized into paragraphs and should have a very effective conclusion.

When you are presenting your speech make sure to use hand gestures, stand still, and try not to move around a lot and make eye contact every now and then. Your voice should be clear and make sure not to speak fast or slow just in the middle.

Your content should be good. You should have interesting content. When you write your speech make sure to be on the same subject always!!!.

Be sure to use powerful words in your speech. Include some language features like alliteration, similes etc. This would make you have a good speech.

I am sure from reading this article you have changed your mind when writing speeches. Thanks for reading.

Change is when things evolve or become different. For example Bill Gates probably every day he is thinking of something new to put out there in the world. Jeff Bezos started selling books and now he is one of the world's richest people with amazon.
That is Change
[Term 2 Week 11: Type your ideas and definition here]

There are different types of change like Chemical change, Psychical change, irreversible and reversible change. These are all types of change and each one of those changes is different and does different things.

My Inquiry- 3 States of Matter

Inquiry

Describe how particles in water change when we change between different states of matter form a solid (ice) to liquid (water) to gas (water vapour). Include how the particles behave (e.g. move) and their positions (are they close together or far apart). You can use illustrations to support your descriptions.                     https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQ4WduVp9k4
There are 3 different states of matter, the states of matter are liquid, solid and gas. Matter in its liquid state will take up the shape and volume of its container. Matter in its solid state has a thick shape or volume. Unlike matter in its liquid state, you are able to touch the solid.  On the other hand, matter in its gas state, you are not able the touch at all.
To demonstrate the 3 states of matter I will use water as an example. When water is frozen into ice it is a solid. When you melt the ice it turns into liquid ( water). When the sun heats up the water, the water turns into water vapour.
The particles in a liquid are separated and are able the move freely. Unlike liquids, the particles inside solids are cramped up together and are not be able to move around freely. Particles inside gas are different from the other 2 states of matter. The particles inside gas are widely separated and are able to move freely.

Writing- Monkey Symphony

Writing

Must do

Make a prediction on what happens next in the story,

Monkey Symphony

This Video shows that each individual or animal has a talent. Strictly taught, the older monkey was playing beautiful piano while following the tutor’s instructions. His younger brother was watching and listening to his brother play classical music.

The younger brother goes on to become a  janitor who works at the local theatre with his friend,  a big gorilla.

The older brother had a show coming up. He goes to rehearse with the strict tutor for their performance. What the tutor didn’t know was that the younger brother had a whole another talent of his own.

While cleaning, the younger brother had found a piano backstage. He then decided to set the piano up and start playing. The tutor heard the young brother play and started to get furious. The friendly gorilla opened up the curtains so that the tutor could see both monkeys playing.

The friendly gorilla convinced the strict tutor into letting both students play. Both monkeys had many successful performances from there on making popular piano music that they both liked.

WALT: Write a set of directions for someone new to the area of Lynfield

Directions to Countdown supermarket from school

From the front gate head East and then turn right onto The Avenue. Continue down The Avenue. At the end of the road, you will see Countdown supermarket on your left. This journey should take you about 20 minutes if you walk. On the way, you will be able to see the lovely scenery that Lynfield gets to offer! To make sure you are going on the right track you should be able to see the community church on your left. Just before you reach Countdown you should be able to see the fun and amazing park on your left too.
If you prefer to go by car follow the same set of instructions but this journey will take about 3 mins. Just in front of the countdown is a massive car park with one on the ground level and one under the Countdown so if it is raining you can park your car in undercover

Compare and contrast- Chemical change and Physical change.

A chemical change results from a chemical reaction, while a physical change is when matter changes forms but not identity. Examples of chemical changes are burning, cooking, rusting, and rotting. Examples of physical changes are boiling, melting, freezing, and shredding. There is no similarity between the both because one is something you can touch like an object, although you can the chemical change you can’t touch the chemical reaction. There is no similarity between both.

My dream car
My favourite car is the Chevrolet Corvette C8.
It’s shaped like an aerodynamic eagle swooping for its prey. The bright cherry red colour catches the light like precious rubies. The interior looks like a luxurious first-class plane. The front has a fast 6.2L lT2 engine and has a horsepower of 495.Oh, what a beast of a car! Let me introduce you to the new 2020 Chevrolet Corvette C8, it can go around a whopping speed of 312kph, boy that’s fast! ( that’s fast because  drivers can only do a third that speed on the highway). I could just imagine cruising through the streets with a loud engine.
It would be a dream to own that car, why? You may ask, well it's because I love fast cars. But this one in particular, is very fast and light-weighted. I am going to earn and save hard to buy that car. It would mean everything  to me. When you open a new car the smell of the new cars is so nice( I’ve seen them in showrooms) and that feels so luxurious. The new technology is fantastic.  Overall I think that the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette C8 is the ideal dream  car for me!

What is a physical change? (My Prediction)

Physical change is when you change something, pound something, stretch something, tear something but in the end, you have changed how something looks like but really you haven’t changed the matter
For example, if you shred a piece of paper, all of that small shred paper is still paper but in a different form.

Chemical change

Define these words:
Substance: A liquid
Reaction: When two substances mix and the end result is a reaction
Reversible: When you can reverse things in its previous form.
Irreversible: When you can’t reverse what you have done
  1. What are 4 things that might happen when a substance undergoes a chemical change? (1:27):
Starts smelling, release light, release gases and give off or take in heat

  2. What are the 5 pieces of evidence that baking a cake When is a chemical change? (2:15 - 3:15): a
The cake batter needed the heat from the oven,  the cake was in the oven and some of its ingredients released carbon dioxide. Before I  put the batter into the oven it was yellow but since the oven cooked it is now a crisp brown cake. When you put water inside all the ingredients, after the cake has been baked you can not squeeze the water out because it is an irreversible process.
  1. Can you think of another chemical change that happens in the kitchen?
When you bake a cake, the cake batter needs the heat from the oven to turn into a cake. That's what smells yummy, looks divine and I am sure it will taste delicious.

My Favourite Toy
I love to play with Lego. I get a wonderful feeling when I open a new Lego set. I love the challenge when you have to connect each piece together. Different sizes big and small, regular blocks and unique shapes make your imagination come to life. The coolest thing I made was the lego Ninjago set. The explosive cannons went along the sides of the ship. The mast stood tall, making everything cower under its size. The mini spaceship had a vast variety of menacing weapons to deal with the enemies in the air. On the sides of the ship, it has two deadly blades ready to pierce enemy cars. This Ninjago set was my favorite!

Inquiry
I think change is like something took. For example, when you are very good at soccer a change could be that you start trying another sport and become very good at it.
