My Inquiry- 3 States of Matter

Inquiry

Describe how particles in water change when we change between different states of matter form a solid (ice) to liquid (water) to gas (water vapour). Include how the particles behave (e.g. move) and their positions (are they close together or far apart). You can use illustrations to support your descriptions.                     https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQ4WduVp9k4
There are 3 different states of matter, the states of matter are liquid, solid and gas. Matter in its liquid state will take up the shape and volume of its container. Matter in its solid state has a thick shape or volume. Unlike matter in its liquid state, you are able to touch the solid.  On the other hand, matter in its gas state, you are not able the touch at all.
To demonstrate the 3 states of matter I will use water as an example. When water is frozen into ice it is a solid. When you melt the ice it turns into liquid ( water). When the sun heats up the water, the water turns into water vapour.
The particles in a liquid are separated and are able the move freely. Unlike liquids, the particles inside solids are cramped up together and are not be able to move around freely. Particles inside gas are different from the other 2 states of matter. The particles inside gas are widely separated and are able to move freely.

Writing- Monkey Symphony

Make a prediction on what happens next in the story,

Monkey Symphony

This Video shows that each individual or animal has a talent. Strictly taught, the older monkey was playing beautiful piano while following the tutor’s instructions. His younger brother was watching and listening to his brother play classical music.

The younger brother goes on to become a  janitor who works at the local theatre with his friend,  a big gorilla.

The older brother had a show coming up. He goes to rehearse with the strict tutor for their performance. What the tutor didn’t know was that the younger brother had a whole another talent of his own.

While cleaning, the younger brother had found a piano backstage. He then decided to set the piano up and start playing. The tutor heard the young brother play and started to get furious. The friendly gorilla opened up the curtains so that the tutor could see both monkeys playing.

The friendly gorilla convinced the strict tutor into letting both students play. Both monkeys had many successful performances from there on making popular piano music that they both liked.

WALT: Write a set of directions for someone new to the area of Lynfield

Directions to Countdown supermarket from school

From the front gate head East and then turn right onto The Avenue. Continue down The Avenue. At the end of the road, you will see Countdown supermarket on your left. This journey should take you about 20 minutes if you walk. On the way, you will be able to see the lovely scenery that Lynfield gets to offer! To make sure you are going on the right track you should be able to see the community church on your left. Just before you reach Countdown you should be able to see the fun and amazing park on your left too.
If you prefer to go by car follow the same set of instructions but this journey will take about 3 mins. Just in front of the countdown is a massive car park with one on the ground level and one under the Countdown so if it is raining you can park your car in undercover

Compare and contrast- Chemical change and Physical change.

A chemical change results from a chemical reaction, while a physical change is when matter changes forms but not identity. Examples of chemical changes are burning, cooking, rusting, and rotting. Examples of physical changes are boiling, melting, freezing, and shredding. There is no similarity between the both because one is something you can touch like an object, although you can the chemical change you can’t touch the chemical reaction. There is no similarity between both.
